Kelli gets far, far too little publicity. I`ve let my friends hear her albums etc, but really there is far too little press. Bloody shame, for lack of a better phrase.

totally agree with that!

yeah, i know, if there was better publicity more americans and whoever might be into her, but it just seems quiet

Definitely, I only found out that Kelli had released anything solo through doing a search for Sneaker Pimps, otherwise I wouldn`t have known. I let a good friend of mine hear both albums and he loved them, so hopefully that`s another fan!

I checked back in to HMV yesterday, and they still haven’t had the single in. :(. It’s been re-ordered though.

I only discovered Kelli’s solo work, through the “You May Also Like…” box on Amazon, when I was viewing “Becoming X”.  I couldn’t believe it was the same person!

Hey Jake , how come you haven’t just ordered it through the One Little Indian web shop,....

Hey Rip Randolf,

Well, as “Hot Lips” was (or so I thought) a major commercial release, I just (stupidly) assumed HMV would have it in stock, and as it is a recent release, I thought I’d have no trouble ordering it either. Thanks for the link though, I’ll order it from One Little Indian - it’s cheaper than Amazon anyway.

Cheers.  smile

LOL.

Kitty, you’re right, I meant it as in “Wretched”.

HMV is the most major music shop in the UK. http://www.hmv.co.uk.

Hey jake,
your right, you should be able to walk into a shop like HMV to pick up Ho tlips as I say it was a commercial release, but I think it’s something to do with the distributors, there is a link which details all their outlets per a particular area, you just enter the town you live in etc and a list of shops come up…here’s the link:

One of the problems is that most major retailers such as HMV are no longer stocking singles because they take up shelf space where they could be selling albums and making more money…..

It’s a very current issue and I predict that singles will eventually dissappear as a cd release and only appear in an electronic format…..

I’m sorry you’ve had to wait so long for this…...

Hey Rip Randolf,

Don’t worry, it’s not your fault. Thanks for the link. Yes, you’re right; there’s a lot of speculation around single-sales at the moment. I think that too. In quite a while to come of course, singles will just disappear. It’s a shame, because I think people need something to represent an album.

You’re also right about HMV stocking less and less singles. I tried to get Fried’s “Whatever I Choose I Lose” on the week of release, and they didn’t have it. I ordered it and it came pretty quickly, but I think they decided not to order any in because they thought people wouldn’t buy it.
