After hearing about the Odetta tribute I decided to hear some of the originals or at least versions performed by her. I was stunned to hear “Waterboy”!
It’s like she was channeling the spirits of all slaves over the aeons. Very disturbing. And just my cup of tea, decided I need to buy a version of it and put it on my play list. I think it would go well with “Becoming X”.
