We were in the van with Woody , driving around L.A. in the hot afternoon sun and he plays us this amazing CD which we absolutely love. We ask Woody who it is and he says, ‘’ Oh it’s my friend, Gwendolyn. She’s playing a gig tonight, you wanna go?’‘
Of course we did! So we all went that night, to a small bar in Hollywood, where we saw the fantastic show of Gwendolyn.

They have a saw player which is such a pleasure to watch and Gwendolyn is a beautiful shimmering force on stage, with her guitar and her psychedelic hill billie voice and style. We just wanted the gig to go on and on and I was kind of disappointed that they weren’t the main band.
One of the cool things about L.A. is the little gig bars, they have such a great atmosphere but in the week they can be really quiet to almost empty and you may end up getting the best seat in the house to watch some amazing band playing their hearts out.
Tonight was like that, only a few people showed up to the gig but those of us who did had chance to see a truly inspired band.
We spoke with Gwendolyn and the band later after the gig, they were very sweet and we bought their record, Dew, which is absolutely brilliant and has accompanied us on our trip ever since.
Gwendolyn make great music, full of energy and light, they create a whole new world which is what all great artists do.
