Nashville with Charlie Judge

We flew into Nashville last night to come and stay and write with my friend Charles Judge. Charlie did all the string arrangements on my Tiger Mouth album and is such a lovely gifted guy, I wanted to visit and do some writing with him.
On arriving at Charlie’s place, he said that we have to go into town. He took us out to the main drag in Nashville which is called Broad Street, where we drank loads and loads of beer and enjoyed being allowed to smoke in a bar after enduring the total hatred of smoking employed by bars in L.A.
It was fun, there was some tribute country band playing in the bar and the place was jam packed full of locals and tourists in cowboy hats. later that night, a string of girls were invited by the lead singer, to jump up on the bar and dance, which was incredibly entertaining!
Today, we are slightly hung over from all the beer. Charlie lives way out of town and there are deer roaming around here which is really lovely.
I think things will be pretty chilled out here, Charlie’s incredibly busy with his work for a lot of the country artists like Big and Rich, so I’m hoping we can get at least a few days to write some songs together.
