Peaceful days in Chatsworth
14 February 2007 ![]()
We’re back in Chatsworth, our friends Jed and Lucia have so graciously let us look after their home whilst they’re out of town so I’m making the best of their cool little studio and working on some songs whilst I’m here.
God I love this place. There is a real mystery about the canyon that overlooks this house and the blazing red hills at sunset never cease to inspire awe and wonder in my heart.
Mixing guitars can be a drag though, I have about five guitar takes which I want to create an interweaving tapestry with but editing them is quite tricky. I am working on a song called No One’s Soldier.
It feels like I’m in a desert when I sing it and I really want to bring that feeling into the recording. Jed and Lucia and Teen have done some great singing and guitar parts so I’m trying to bring it all together in this quiet lovely space.
I look out the window and see the hills and canyons and I am struck by the passing of another peaceful day.
