WE DID IT!!!!! AIDS WALK SAN FRANCISCO JULY 18TH 2010
20 July 2010
Thank you to everyone who donated and supported me in the AIDS WALK 2010 San Francisco and helped raise $500 for the AIDS Foundation!
Your generous contributions went towards the $3,031,551 total which was raised this year by everyone involved in the wonderful event.
It was a beautiful day and I thoroughly enjoyed the 6 mile walk around Golden Gate Park with around 25,000 others, all walking to try and raise awareness and raise money for the AIDS foundation in San Francisco.
It was wonderful to be one of the many walkers who turned up on Sunday morning at Golden gate Park in San Francisco. I was very touched by the spirit of community and good will that was shown by the walkers and the volunteer helpers. Everyone was in a great mood of charity and hope and we were moved to see people paying tribute to loved ones they had lost to AIDS and to hear a fifteen year old girl who had been born with HIV talk about her experience and the good work that the AIDS foundation have done for her and many others.
The park is such a beautiful place to walk and everything was extremely well organized by the event planners so the day was such a pleasure for everyone involved.
As we walked,we smiled, grateful to be alive on the Earth amongst the beautiful trees and flowers and we thought of those whom we love and were grateful for them also and glad that we might be of service in our own small way to someone in their time of need, though we may never know or meet them. Human beings walking a walk for other human beings so that some of their suffering might be eased as a result of it. It felt good to be a part of.
Thank you so much to everyone who made donations and supported my walk for AIDS,Your generosity and good will is most appreciated and will make a very real difference to people's lives.
Thanks and best wishes,
