Roger Rose
One of the coolest guy’s I know is called Roger Rose, a cool kid from Trinidad who plays amazing guitar and has a super freaky cool voice. I sang on one of his records.
The song was called ‘Come Dance with Me’. It was my first time in a studio and I really enjoyed the experience and having a finished result at the end of it. Roger took me back to his flat, a tower block in Aston and I realised just how skint he was, there was no carpet on the floor and hardly any furniture but i had never seen so many electric guitars in someone’s living room before. Roger turned to me and said “Pick any one you like”.
I couldn’t believe it. I had had to sell the white guitar I had bought on my birthday and now Roger was offering me any one of his guitars in reward for singing on his record. He’d been spending all his cash on making music. Roger Rose is a genuine artist, he lives in Trinidad now and is making music there. I’ll never forget his kindness and cool spirit. I chose a guitar that I hoped he wouldn’t miss too much. It was a black and white heavy heavy guitar. Thanks Roger you diamond.
